Doctor Who was my fandom introduction. I spent hours on Tumblr looking at fan art, had a version of Rivers notebook that I wrote all the quotes I liked as watching, and collected all the merch I could get my hands on.

Among my favorite merch items was this TARDIS alarm clock!

The windows displayed time while the two squares under them with icons were the settings. To turn the alarm off you would press in the glowing light on top. It projected the time onto the ceiling and made the TARDIS taking off sound to wake me up. After awhile, it semed to glitch out - the buttons didn't work, it would randomly go off, and the lights stopped working. As a teen, I moved it into my car that had a "my other ride is a TARDIS" license plate frame. I thought it was fun to have it randomly go off while I was driving, like I was in it.

Then, after I left school, a snow storm came and I had to get my car unstuck for work! It took me an hour, and when I got home, I found my poor TARDIS alarm clock IN THE DRIVEWAY?! Luckily it's casing is mostly okay besides the top left corner now popping out, but the insides were long gone. No more long grinding mechanics of the TARDIS in flight. Just a box. It now sits on my shelf by my IRL shrines.

Another favorite was a replica of the 11th Doctors sonic screwdriver. It sat on my shelf for a while until my little brother got old enough to mess with my things. He would take it and play with it, but me being me it needed to stay preistine and collection worthy. We bought him his own (I think from Hot Topic) and mine returned to the shelf. I dont know where his ever went, but mine got crushed in a move as an adult and started going off randomly. You press a button on the side or a hidden button under a latch on the handle to make it go off and the top was retractable, just like The Doctors. Now its stuck in the same position and goes off if its jostled enough, needing another jostle to turn off. It still looks great and buttons still function, so it is under my TV in my livingroom.

Originally, as soon as I met the 11th docotor and Amy Pond, I fell in love. I thought they had a lot of strong storylines - I loved The Silence as much as Weeping Angels, The Crack, and Pandoras Box the most. The Silence were SlenderMan like, and the tally marks appearing on your arms idea was something I was having nightmares over. While nightmares aren't great, it goes to show how much I loved the overall concept. The crack on Amys wall seemed to be almost an Eldrich Horror, constant and looming. The mystery behind it had me making all sorts of theories at the time! Pandoras Box was my all time favorite storyline of any show ever for a long time. I even memorized the "I. AM. TALKING." speech for my monolouge test in acting class. (I also had a big crush on Rory as the lone centurion.)

My preferance slowly shifted as I became an adult. I started to find The Doctor and Amys relationship... weird? Without going into too much detail, this video can. Now, after my most recent rewatching, I've realized the 10th Doctor is my favorite. He and his compainions focused more on real life issues, working class stuggles, just framed in a spacy-wacey sorta way. As the last video link by verilybitchie says, the episodes are framed more through the eyes of the companion. The companions during these seasons are relatable and are just as important as The Doctor. I find his relationship with each of them unique, in context with one another, and deep.

While I love Rose and Martha, the best companion I know is Donna. I loved her sass, her charisma, and ENTIRE storyline. Her character growth was full circle and she was soso funny. I cried just as hard losing Rose and every other doctor as I did Donna, but something about the bit where she lost her memory left a pit in my stomach. I think it would have been amazing to see long term Doctor Donna. Her dad was also a favorite character of mine becasue of how sweet he was.

I still need to watch past the 11th Doctor. When he left and 12 appeared, I was too sad at the time. I fell off of watching and rewatching the show for a bit until a few years ago but saw the DVDs on sale and snagged them. I have 9-12, but I keep wanting to restart the whole thing before I catch up. Maybe that IS unrealistic as I haven't gotten past 11 again, but I can't help myself. The thing that recently has me really wanting to go for it is Jinx Monsoon as Maestro! Let's hope I get there and can update this page!
